📊 Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide you with the service:
- Account information: Your name, email address, nationality, and country of residence
- Financial data: Income records, expense entries, account balances, savings goals, and debt records that you choose to enter
- Usage data: Login timestamps and general app activity for security and troubleshooting
- Health & habit data (Premium): Daily health logs and habit tracking data that you enter voluntarily — this data is private to your individual account only
🔐 How We Use Your Information
- To provide, maintain and improve the NestWise service
- To display your financial summaries, reports and dashboards
- To send transactional emails (account verification, password reset, plan changes)
- To provide AI-powered financial insights when you use the AI Assistant feature
- To detect and prevent fraud or unauthorised access to your account
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond providing this service.
🚫 What We Never Do
- We never sell your personal or financial data to any third party
- We never share your data with advertisers or marketing companies
- We never access your financial accounts directly — all data is entered by you
- We never store your bank credentials or payment card information
👨👩👧 Family Data Sharing
When you invite a family member to your NestWise account using a connect code:
- Financial data (income, expenses, accounts, goals, budget) is shared between all family members
- Health logs and habit tracking data remain strictly personal — family members cannot see each other's health or habit entries
- The account owner controls who has access by sharing or revoking the connect code
🗄️ Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers in a protected MySQL database
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt — we cannot see or recover your password
- All web connections use HTTPS/SSL encryption
- Sessions use HttpOnly cookies with Strict SameSite policy
- Database queries use prepared statements to prevent SQL injection
- CSRF tokens protect all forms from cross-site request forgery
🤖 AI Assistant
Premium users have access to an AI-powered financial assistant. When you use this feature:
- A summary of your financial data is sent to the AI provider (Anthropic Claude or OpenAI) to generate your response
- This data is used only to generate your answer and is not stored or used to train AI models under standard API terms
- You can disable this feature by not using the AI Assistant chat
⏳ Data Retention & Deletion
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active
- You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at nestwise@ikhenz.com
- Upon deletion, all personal data, financial records, and account information are permanently removed from our systems
